With more than two decades of experience in finance as a consultant and within Fortune 50 organizations, Justin Owens established Owens Consulting Group to support entrepreneurs and small businesses. Justin applies a combination of financial and operational expertise to each project, ensuring immediate and enduring results for his clients.

 Justin possesses a master's degree in Financial Markets and Investments from the Illinois Institute of Technology, as well as a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University. Additionally, he holds the designation of Charter Financial Analyst (CFA) and remains actively engaged in the field.

  • Situation: A private equity firm recently purchased an aerospace and defense company that needed to be integrated into their portfolio.

    Action: Owns Consulting provided transition service agreement (TSA) and program management services to the private equity firm overseeing the year long separation of the companies.

    Result: The newly acquired company was successfully separated from the parent company minimizing operational disruptions and separation costs.

  • Situation: A global metals manufacturer requires financial modeling support to apply for Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funds aimed at expanding their recycling and manufacturing operations.

    Action: Owns Consulting developed customized financial models for the company’s metals manufacturing and recycling businesses. Each model was meticulously crafted for the respective business units, incorporating essential metrics such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), payback periods, and headcount details to support project viability.

    Result: The client obtained over $500 million in federal, state, and local incentives for their two locations to support the new recycling program and the expansion of metal manufacturing operations.

  • Situation: A healthcare technology company undergoing a divestiture requires analytics and dashboards to monitor the progress of multiple separation projects.

    Action: Owns Consulting Group developed a standardized and automated procedure for the biweekly collection, cleaning, transformation, and visualization of data.

    Result: The PowerBI dashboards enabled senior leadership to efficiently process large volumes of data in a user-friendly format. This resulted in better project visibility and more effective communication between the parent company and the carved-out entity.
